The Life is Loving Festival is a reflection of the Life is Living Campaign whose focus is to demonstrate through art the ways in which life is sustained in Oakland. Each year the Life is Living community comes together to acknowledge Black History month with a focus on
honoring the past to affirm the future. The Festival includes a diverse set of events independently produced and facilitated by artivists and activists in the Life is Living community. The festival is supported by the generous volunteer efforts of a number of individual sponsors as well as organizations including Youth Speaks, Young Gifted and Black, UrbanFolk, inc., Fist Up Film Festival, Antique Edutainment, Peoples Kitchen, Soul Space, Ms Ollies, Kingston 11 and others.
